What do you need? Negotiate the offer that’s right for you.
Ahh! The topic of negotiating. Everyone’s favorite part of the job-seeking process! No? Oh, perhaps I have the wrong crowd. It’s probably going to take me a while to find the right crowd for this one. Negotiating is tough! It’s the dreadful part of the process, but usually, if we don’t do it, we’re kicking ourselves, full of regret and allowing the “what ifs” to float in our heads. Well, let me help you. It’s ok to negotiate! You deserve to feel comfortable with your job. Yes, we usually work an average of about 8 hours a day, but the truth is work can affect every area of your life, so you want to be happy. I’m not suggesting that you make a ridiculous request, but I want you to know that it's understandable if you ask for want you need. You can find helpful information online to determine the average salary for your profession, years of experience, and industry (which are all very helpful), but only YOU know what you need for you and your family. Consider the knowledge and skill you bring to the table, your lifestyle, your research of the market, and then come up with the target compensation for yourself!
